Best Egyptian doll in my collection!
I've had this gorgeous lady for quite some time, but I figured I should add my review. I'm picky about Egyptian dolls, because Egyptology is one of my fields, and Aahmas is a breath of fresh air compared to the dolls covered in gold lame, as they typically are. Her simple dress is elegant and believable. Her headdress is lovely. It is a bit muted, but I think that's a nice contrast to the bright colors of other Egyptian dolls in my collection. I was worried about her looks when I first heard Deja Vu was going Egyptian, but she fits in perfectly with one of the world's largest melting pots. The skintone is good and her wig is well done. I've seen ancient wigs that look similar! My only real criticism is that the fabric bracelets don't match up to the quality level of the rest of the doll. I would have preferred even just one golden bracelet in metal or heavy plastic. But overall, she's excellent. Review by Lori / (Posted on 8/25/2016)
I just LOVE her! Unlike Karen's review, I was very happy that the headpiece colors were muted. If they were too flashy, it would have detracted from the doll herself, especially her face. Plus, it almost gives the impression that she has emerged from her tomb after thousands of years! I also love the ethnic-style hair (in dozens of braids). Not sure if ancient Egyptians were considered black (it is North Africa), or Arab (since now we think of them as part of the Middle East). But sure happy there were no, so to speak, "Barbie waves" or anything else inauthentic! Review by CathyH / (Posted on 2/19/2016)
A Little Dissapointed
The main reason I bought this doll was for the headpiece. Although the detail is quite nice, the colors are actually more muted and dull looking than I was expecting from the photo. I wish the headpiece colors were more vivid. The doll herself is very pretty. Review by Karen / (Posted on 1/21/2016)
A wonderful Deja Vu!
This is a wonderful doll. The headpiece looks real and I had to unwrap it carefully, not sure what it was made of. I think it is a special plastic or resin composite as it is rigid and is weighty. The enamel effect of the paint is really well done--a lot of detail!!I think the description should list what special accessories are made of, as well as fabrics(remembering the "Cashmere Noir" coat of Tyler's debut year). A beautifully done, original concept Deja Vu doll, especially in these times when quality is often sacrificed to get to a certain price point. A must for those longing for a Deja Vu of ancient times. A direct hit!
Wow! Let me be the first to say this doll is fantastic! I really think the headpiece is a direct hit. Can't wait to get her! She is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks RT. Review by Alfred / (Posted on 12/2/2015)
