2008 Tonner “Dreamscapes” Convention

Competition Rules

Following are the rules of entry for the Tonner “Dreamscapes” Convention Competitive Exhibit.  Please read these carefully.  Each exhibitor is responsible for choosing the correct category in which to enter a specific doll.

Please complete the enclosed Competition Exhibit Entry Form in duplicate to be submitted with your dolls when you bring them to the competition room for display. We will be informally photographing the dolls for a slide presentation during drop off. We look forward to seeing you and your lovely dolls at the convention.  Thank you for sharing your creativity with us!

Questions?  Contact:  Meg Hunt at meghunt@verizon.net or 703-243-7142.

RULES OF ENTRY:

  1. All entries must be registered and removed from the exhibit room in accordance with the convention schedule.  Two advance registration forms are included in the convention packet for you to complete and bring with you to the exhibit room.  Each exhibitor must come with a copy of his/her Competitive Exhibit Entry Form to pick up his/her dolls. Dolls may not be removed from the exhibit early.
  2. Each exhibitor may not enter more than six (6) categories in the doll categories.  In other words, you may enter up to 6 doll categories and the craft category.
  3. The entry must be completely original and in this or any other variation it cannot have been previously shown, sold or competed. Interpretation of this restriction is solely at the judges’ discretion.
  4. Only one (1) doll may be entered in a numbered class, except where otherwise stated, such as pairs or sets.  Each pair or set is considered one (1) entry.
  5. All dolls must be properly strung or assembled and must be positioned securely on a suitable doll stand.
  6. Judging will be conducted in accordance with the criteria described in the respective category description. Please read the category descriptions and judging criteria carefully.
  7. Dolls entered in the wrong category will not be judged.
  8. At the time entries are submitted, a hang tag to facilitate anonymous judging and post-judging identification of each doll during display will be provided for each entry.
  9. Ribbons will be awarded and placed on the dolls after judging and before the competition room is opened for viewing, except for the People’s Choice Award.
  10. Categories with one doll or less may be combined with other categories.
