About Scott Fortner

Scott Fortner is a life-long Marilyn Monroe fan, enthusiast, and collector. Considered an authority on Marilyn Monroe, Fortner is often called upon by world-wide news agencies, including Reuters and the Associated Press, to comment on current Marilyn Monroe topics. In addition, he assists major auction companies in authenticating and verifying memorabilia, Marilyn Monroe owned-items and Marilyn Monroe autographs.

In 2010, Fortner was showcased in a feature photography project, “Marilyn & I,” shot by French photographer Yury Toroptsov. The photos were exhibited in Paris in 2012.

In 2011, he was a guest of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where he presented to a packed audience at the Linwood Dunn Theater attending a viewing of never-before-seen behind the scenes footage of Marilyn Monroe on the set of Bus Stop, taken by her then business partner Milton Greene. The footage was presented as part of Hollywood Home Movies III: Treasures from the Academy Film Archive Collection.

Also in 2011, Fortner was showcased for the independent documentary, “With Her,” produced and directed by French filmmaker Laurent Morlet. The production is scheduled for release in February of 2012. He also participated in the Travel Channel’s “Mysteries at The Museum” series, as part of a special report focusing on the death of Marilyn Monroe.

1)  The JFK Birthday Gala:  This is the blouse Marilyn wore when rehearsing for what is now known as her most famous public appearance:  Her performance of “Happy Birthday Mr. President” for President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden on May 19, 1962.  For more information and photos, click here.
