DeeAnna Denton and James Collins Get a Photoshoot

Posing for the Shoot

Here at Tonner Doll we are always working with our dolls thinking of ways to capture their spirit. Laura Domholt, our fabulous Production Manager at Tonner, shows her skills readying James Collins and DeeAnna Denton for their photo shoot. There is a lot that goes into this, and one of the things we are looking to bring to our blog is all the joy and craft involved in doll play and collection. Part of the Tonner mission is to open the world of collection to new people. We hope also to bring to you more of the behind-the-scenes footage that is always happening in our happy house.

In this case, we just grabbed the camera as Laura started doing what she does so well.  Posing a doll isn’t as easy as it looks, that’s for sure… though Laura is very well versed in the subject.  Something as simple as the way the head is tilted is a sublte form of expression.  It’s all in the details!

We think the trick is to make the doll appear as realistic and life-like as possible.   What do you think?  How do you pose your dolls?  Action-oriented?  Still-like?  Seated? Standing?  Alone?  In a group?

Thanks for taking the time to read, and feel free to share your own doll photos with us as so many of you already do on our Facebook page.

  1. I love doing that!!!

    • Thanks, glad you like it! Have any posing tips you’d like to share, Patty?

  2. I love posing my dolls, but don’t do it as often as I used to.

What I REALLY, REALLY miss about Tonners photoshoots; the use of the wonderfully detailed sets they made of Tylers penthouse and “Little Luxuries” restaurant. These backdrops, or miniature sets inspired me to have a custom dollhouse made for my Tonner dolls.
