Oh gosh, it is a big day today, you can’t even imagine! We kicked off this gorgeous Saturday in Chicago with a bit of good tidings and cheer: The Amelia Thimble event Let it Sew, Let it Sew, Let it Sew! We brought the Christmas season back just for this morning, and boy was it festive! Everyone wore the most hideously festive holiday sweater they could find, or Christmas PJs, and boy there were some doosies! 🙂 There’s no question that everyone was feeling the holiday spirit!
The centerpiece for this lovely breakfast event was Christmas Morning Patsy, and she was adorable! She’s very special too, because she features a BRAND NEW, never before seen Patsy head sculpt! She’s on the 10” Ann Estelle body, has the cameo skin tone, and has wigged brunette hair and green inset eyes. Wait till you hear what she was wearing!! She wore a 2 piece pink jammie set with white polka dots! The top has a empire waist and a sweet blue bow at the neck, and the bottoms have feet with adorable little pom-poms atop of her darling feet! To top it off (pun intended) she’s got a sweet blue bow in her hair.
The Christmas guests got a favor at breakfast too: a shiny Amelia Thimble Christmas ornament called Sew Happy, which is a small edition size of 250, and very, very sweet!
The collectors were also very pleased with the event souvenir: The Amelia Thimble Gift Set Let it Sew, Let it Sew, Let it Sew! Included in the set is of course darling little resin Amelia with a light brunette wig and blue inset eyes. She wears a darling little Christmas dress with a white top and baby blue skirt with a snowflake decoration. She wears sweet little blue shoes and a snow white fuzzy hat adorned with a blue bow. Her tiny festive outfit just wouldn’t be complete without a matching snow white muff with a tiny blue bow! Also included in the gift set is a blue Christmas stocking, white teddy bear with a silver ornament and Amelia’s very own Christmas present wrapped in shiny silver wrapping paper. This sweet little gift set is a limited edition of 200 pieces.
And what would a child doll event be without an 8” Tiny Betsy?? The Merry Christmas Tiny Betsy was the general companion piece at the event, and wow! She was as sweet as a candy cane dressed in a red and white striped dress with a festive holly appliqué on her chest, and paired with evergreen tights and headband. She’s got the Ann head sculpt, blue inset sleepy eyes, and also comes wearing a bobbed brunette wig with the afore-mentioned green headband attached. Now this is a Gift Set that comes positively packed with goodies! The following is also included: a forest green Christmas dress, red and white striped tights, an adorable snow white dressy coat with candy cane appliqué and faux pearl button, a curly Betsy wig, and Betsy’s very own presents (two)!
Joe gave this morning’s presentation, and let me just tell you: It was a real hoot! Joe created an adaptation of a Christmas favorite called Amelia’s Night Before Christmas. He absolutely had the crowd in stitches! It was a Wilde Christmas night for Amelia, that’s for sure! Have a look at a couple of slides from the presentation:
Also for great fun, there was a dress up contest: 5 collectors were randomly chosen to make a hideously festive Christmas sweater out of materials supplied by Tonner. Oh! It was a sight for sore eyes…. Literally! Great job to the contestants, though, seriously, they did a heck of a job!
Check out the video results of the contest:
I had to dip out a little early to make it in time for the next workshop: Beaded and Twisted Wire Jewelry by Marcia Friend. Jewelry making is a fun filled pastime and this time was no exception! The jewelry Marcia showed us how to make is absolutely gorgeous, and really quite easy if you’re crafty to whip up! Take a look:
Here’s some more pics of collectors trying their hand at beading:
Be sure and check back later to hear details from the Amazonia event, coming up next, and then later on the Saturday night banquet event, Flights of Fancy and the Angry Birds PJ Party!!!
