So, after last night’s fashionable dinner event, there was a really amazing Wizard of Oz Seminar, presented by John Fricke, world-famous Oz historian. He was an absolute delight! Joe introduced John in full Munchkin regalia:
You’ll never meet anther human as passionate and enthusiastic about the wonderful world of Oz, or someone who knows as much, either! John gave us a remarkable insight into the making of the classic film, and what it was like, behind the scenes. So much history and so many details! It really was absolutely captivating to hear about Judy Garland in a more intimate way.
There was even a cut-out of the Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow for pictures:
John recently published a new Judy Garland book and graciously brought one to give away, and the lucky winner was none other than Debbie Lincoln!
Tonner Doll has a rich history with the Wizard of Oz, as well, and Robert took us on a trip down the yellow-bricked memory lane to give us a retrospective of all the Oz dolls and collectibles we have created over the years. Fantastic!
Additionally, TWO brand new Wizard of Oz inspired dolls from Wilde Imagination were available for all the Oz lovers: a Patience Dorothy and a bewitching Patience Glinda.
Patience Dorothy has her signature braided brown tresses, brown flirty eyes that move from side to side as she side steps the Wicked Witch, and her classic ensemble of blue gingham and red ruby slippers. She also comes with a sweet little woven basket and napkin to fill with apples, or to give Toto a rest.
Patience Glinda the Good Witch is absolutely precious with her strawberry curls, flirty blue eyes that move from side to side as she watches out for Dorothy and her frothy pink good witch gown. Including her magic wand and sparkling crown, this darling Patience-as-Glinda will simply run away to Oz with your heart!
Each is an edition size of just 300 pieces.
