So yeah.  Brand NEW head sculpt introduced today!  Baby Lou.  So very sweet, and the collectors took to her right away.  Who do you think was Robert’s inspiration for this little darling? :)

There were a LOT of festive peeps today at breakfast.  Have a look at some Suess-tastic ensembles:

Quick side note:  we did not actually dine on green eggs and ham.  I know:  Mildly disappointing, right? :D  But the breakfast was still quite a spread, and delish down to the last morsel!

After we were all filled up on yummies, we got to see the last installment of the Super Secret Video.  It was hysterical!  We were all but rolling on the floor, sides split with joy and tears of laughter streaming down our faces.

OK now for THE highlight of the event:  Robert clued us in on a BRAND NEW line that’s due out this year:  The Carmen Dell’Orefice Collection.  He didn’t show the doll exactly (oh!  The agony!), but he did discuss his inspirations for her and the collection.  She is the oldest working super model at eighty something years young ;)  And still gorgeous.  For more info about Carmen, click HERE.  And like her Facebook page too!  Wait and see, Doll Lovers, and prepare to be impressed!

And now for curtain call :D  As I say every year, this part is always bittersweet.  Saying goodbye to our friends is not easy.

Saying goodbye *tears*

Truthfully, for us staffers, it’s a bit of a letdown come Sunday.  With all the excitement of the weekend, it’s a crushing blow to our mellow packing up and saying goodbye.  A heartfelt thank you to all our attendees, virtual and actual.  Without you guys, we really have no reason to rise and shine every morning.  These shared moments are truly special for us, and we’re so grateful to be able to spend this time together year after year.  Thank you for the hugs, the laughs, the tears, the inspiration, the fond memories, the enthusiasm, the “play”, the joy and the connection.   What company has the BEST fans and collectors in the WORLD?  Wait. Oh yeah.  It’s US!!

  1. Thanks for the fabulous coverage! Everything looks so fun!
Right back atcha with the *group hug*

  2. You asked about the “Brand NEW head sculpt” and Robert’s inspiration for her. Well here is my answer:
First, the head sculpt is not “brand new”, it was created for the Petite Filles introduced in 2008. Mimi and Babette used that head sculpt on the 10” child body and were based on 1954 paper dolls drawn by Elizabeth Ann Gartrell Voss (aka EA Voss, B Voss, Betty Voss, A Gartrell and B Gartrell). The paper doll book was titled “Lindy Lou ‘n Cindy Sue” and published by Merrill Publishing Company in Chicago.

The same figures and fashions were also used in a book titled “Candy and her Cousins” in 1961.

  3. When will those adorable dolls be on sale at TonnerDirect?
