Thursday has been a whirlwind of fun! We had some last minute set-up still going on, as well as set-up for the competition, raffle and special exhibit as well! Then, onto the fun of registration at 2pm! The collectors were already lined up, and eager to get their Tonner Con bags, which this year are super fashionable Tonner Air bags, fitting in with the Flights of Fancy theme! People were just going crazy for them! The bags were filled with all sorts of goodies, including a 13” Wonder Woman doll! What a way to kick off a super Tonner Weekend!
Also included in the Convention bags is the agenda for the weekend. Here’s one for you so you can follow along: click HERE!
Right after registration ended at 4pm, all volunteers were ushered off to their Volunteer Meeting, while everyone else got themselves pumped for the opening event, beginning at 7.30pm: Welcome Aboard dessert!
Fast forward to the opening event, Welcome Aboard for dessert! The Tonner staff was festively dressed Air-wear, in button-down white shirts, black slacks and skirts, and to complete the ensemble, an adorable vintage stewardess hats!
And ohhh!! The centerpiece was a fanciful trio: Shelly, Tonner Air Stewardess, Kay, Tonner Air Stewardess, and Captain Paul, pilot.
Here are the details: Kay – New Model #3 head sculpt, Tyler BW body, Tyler skin tone, painted brown eyes and rooted auburn/brunette saran hair. Take a look at this snappy darling:
Shelly – Shelly head sculpt Tyler BW body, Tyler skin tone, painted brown eyes and blonde saran hair.
Both Tonner Air Stewardesses come wearing a beautifully tailored suit of airline navy blue accented with white cuffs and collar and complete with fresh white gloves, Tonner Air hat and tote bag.
Onto Captain Paul: His head sculpt is a BRAND NEW Matt head sculpt, and he is on the 17” Matt O’Neill body. He’s got baby blue eyes, brunette saran rooted hair and is in the Tyler skin tone. He comes dressed in an equally tailored double-breasted navy pilot suit with a red tie for a little zip. Oh, and of course, he is professionally adorned with his Captain’s hat! All three dolls are LE 150. Get a load of him below:
And hold onto your pilot caps, dear friends, because the collector souvenir is Judy, Tonner Air Stewardess in a basic. Judy is a Glinda head sculpt, and has a totally unique, BRAND NEW 16” body: She has a Tyler upper body (Tyler arm and bust), and a fuller hip (Curvaceous body below the belt!), known as the brand-spanking-new Starlet body, and she comes wearing totally cute vintage shape wear and a delicate pink neckerchief. Judy is in the creamy cameo skin tone, has rooted brunette saran hair and painted grey/blue eyes. She is a LE of 300 pieces. What do you think of the her as seen below?
Robert presented the wonderfully hilarious kick-off presentation of Staff Intros, which were vintage pics of airline crew with the sunny faces of the Tonner staff photoshopped in. It was very well done; they looked as though they were part of the original image! Take a look at a few below! After lots of laughter, everyone got their just desserts!
Michelle Hodge, Customer Service Extraordinaire - This is another fun slide from the Staff Intro Presentation.
But that wasn’t enough fun, oh no! Next we moved on to the very exciting Grand Opening of the Sales Room at 9.45pm, and it was a mad dash to the line-up! When those doors flew open, collectors simply swarmed around the sales tables!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for more #tonnercon fun! We’ve got the workshops, a Wilde event and the Marilyn event! Stay tuned!

Absolutely fantastic, ALL of it!! I knew it was going to break my heart to miss Convention this year, but these dolls are just TOO MUCH! “Judy” is a total knockout! And Kay and Shelly are both adorable. I know the rest of the weekend will be even MORE fun, as it just gets better—can’t wait to see the Ellowyne!
Hugs to all of my friends who are there, and all of my loved ones at TDC and WI!

I begged my docs to give me leave to attend, but they’re all waiting to see what happens after a 2 hr test flight next month.. Maybe next year. Maybe you guys will go back to Orlando so I don’t have to fly?
