Onto the biggest event of the weekend: Saturday’s Dinner Event, Flights of Fancy! Everyone donned their finest feathers and prettiest plumes, and took flight down to the banquet room for a bit of dining and dancing! The Tonner Staff cleans up pretty well, if I do say so myself, and also had these gorgeous feather masks to wear too!
Now, onto the important stuff: The dolls! The souvenir was a perfectly pink Flamingo, which garnered ooohs and aaaahs all over the place! She’s a breathtaking Cami head sculpt on an Antoinette body with blonde saran hair neatly pulled back into a pretty bun, with painted blue eyes. Her flamingo outfit is inspired by our bird friend with a shimmering, shirred pink bodice and full skirt with layers of glistening taffeta and faux pink feathers. In her hair is a soft feather wrapped delicately around her bun. She wears gold strappy shoes, and is an edition size of 300 pieces.
There were 5 (yep, count ‘em: 5!!) centerpiece dolls this year, randomly assorted with one on each table. They’re all birds of a feather: Toucan, Raven, Peacock, Cardinal, and The Parrot. Each one gorgeous works of art, Robert and Joe have truly amazed and delighted collectors tonight! Each of the 5 dolls is a LE of 100 pieces.
Here are the details of each bird:
Toucan – Daphne head sculpt, Antoinette body, black saran removable wig with cropped locks, blue painted eyes, and Tyler skin tone. She comes wearing an outrageous black dress with bodice ruffles and ruffles at the bottom, and bolero ruffles that mimic the beak of the Toucan. Her look is complete with sassy black pumps.
Raven – Precarious head sculpt on an Antoinette body with back rooted saran hair with painted brown eyes and Tyler skin tone. She wears a darkly delicious black belted cocktail dress with full sleeves trimmed with feathers over shiny black leggings. Even her shoes have feathers on the back! …and her hair is AWESOME by the way. It’s all knotted up on the top, and sticks out in a very feather-like manner, and it’s oh so edgy. Love it!
Peacock – Duchess head sculpt, Antoinette body, rooted platinum saran hair, Tyler skin tone, blue painted eyes. She dons a gorgeous royal blue dress with a mermaid silhouette, and a peacock perfect multi color robe adorned with ruffles and peacock decoration with an iridescent shimmer. The ensemble is complete with white booties with feather decoration.
Cardinal – Antoinette head and body, with rooted black saran hair with a bright red twist in the front adorned with a feather, gray painted eyes, Tyler skin tone. Her red strapless dress has a sweetheart neckline and is gloriously ruffled with tiered layers of feathers and fabrics. Her outfit is complete with black pumps and a black choker, and red jewels hanging from her ears.
The Parrot – Oh, the Parrot is magnificent in all it’s glory! It’s an Antoinette with red rooted saran hair, painted green eyes, Tyler skin tone, and colorful, stunning face paint. Her outfit is just as colorful with it’s layers and layers and layers of colorful ruffles and crinkle taffeta, satin, organza, lace, glittered tulle, sparkle tulle. This is some dress, dear ones! Perched (!) atop her head is a tiny hat with yellow feather decoration. And wait till you see her shoes: mid calf 3 buckle square heeled mary janes. Oh! The agony!!
Now, each centerpiece doll gently resides on a perch! It’s the Flights of Fancy Stand and there are only 50 to be had!
Tonight this event was chalked full of fun stuff, too, like a wonderful band and lots of dancing! Also the competition winners were announced, as well as the photography award announced, too. We ate, we drank, we were merry, it was glorious!
After our bellies were nice and full, we went and got our jammies on for the… you know it!! The infamous Tonner PJ Party, Angry Birds style! All the festive angry birds pjs were so fun to see, and of course the Tonner Staff was decked out in our Angry Birds Ts!
The raffle was amazing, there were so many outstanding prizes, and the winners were so hip hop happy! The Raffle Committee did an absolutely splendid job this year, as always, and we thank them!!
After the Raffle was over we got down on it, and did the Cupid Shuffle! Boy, that Robert loves to dance! It was a great way to wind down after an awesome, fun filled day, with a little ice cream and refreshments, it was pure joy!
…and now: off to bed!! See you in tomorrow, when I’ll report on the last event for the weekend: Bon Voyage! See you then!
