One of the newest editions to the Marvel Universe line from Tonner is Elektra.
Elektra’s full name is Elektra Natchios. She is a female ninja assassin of Greek descent. Elektra was created by Frank Miller in 1981 and has made an appearance in the 2003 film Daredevil and having her own 2005 self titled film starring Jennifer Garner.
Expertly trained in martial arts, her weapon of choice the sai. She is also an Olympic-level athlete, strong in gymnastics and swimming, with a high level in athleticism in human strength, speed, stamina, agility, dexterity, reflexes & reactions, coordination, balance, and endurance. She is resistant to pain and extreme heat and cold. She is also able to keep to the shadows and move with such speed that she can remain unseen even in daylight. Some of her other skills include the ability to mesmerize others, and as such make them see illusions or other phenomena and the ability to “throw” her mind into those of others by temporarily taking over their minds to track down her target.
Tonner did an amazing job at capturing the look and feel of Elektra. I was extremely excited to get my hands on this doll. I have all of the other Marvel character figures and I was very happy to add this one to my collection. I couldn’t wait to open the package when it arrived
Every aspect of her is dead on and very well put together. Elektra is sculpted with the 16″ Heroic body, the Rene head sculpt with the Tyler skin tone. She has Raven saran hair and brown eyes.
One of my favorite things about Elektra is she comes with accessories which include arm bands, her signature head wrap and two sets of hands, the Tyler holding hands and the Tyler classic hands.
It wouldn’t have been the same effect without her twin sai.
Here are some close up shots of her face. She looks strong and powerful. The details are flawless. The head wrap comes with a chin strap and it is easily hidden if you pull a small amount of hair through when putting it on.
Elektra’s outfit is identical to the one she wears in the comic. With it’s red stretch fabric and wrapped accents she is definitely going to be eye catching in any collection. I like how Tonner made the arm bands so you can choose where they go and are not limited to factory placement. I chose to make them different in placement to give it a more unique look. Her clothing also gives her the freedom to be posed in a number of positions to suit the mood of your choosing.
Now for a close up of everyone’s favorite part, the shoes. Her boots continue the wrapped look and effectively complete her look.
For those on the fence, go get her before she is gone. She is a great addition to the Marvel Universe line and is one of my favorite figures that Tonner has done yet. You will not be disappointed. I hope that you have enjoyed reading my review. Happy collecting!
